Nightingale cottage, at the Old Bakery gites, is a fully renovated well appointed 2 bedroomed traditional Breton stone gite for up to 4 people  located in the heart of Brittany and nestled in the beautiful Breton countryside in the village of Gomené, Côtes-d'Armor. It offers tranquil high quality accommodation consisting of a downstairs open-plan kitchen-dining and living area and upstairs  double bedroom, second bedroom with single bunk beds, and a shower room with toilet. It maintains its traditional charm with numerous exposed beams and character stone walls. The gite is within the grounds of our former farmhouse and bakery and whilst you will have full access to over an acre of stunning gardens with countryside and forest views your gite also benefits from its own private seating and BBQ area. Our swimming pool is also available for your use (Summer Season Only opens May to end September), the pool is fully heated and benefits from having a heat retaining dome that is pushed back during use but can be left in place to allow swimming and fun even if you were to be unlucky with the weather. The grounds have numerous seating areas , a boule court ,badminton, childrens swings and slide, trampoline, an entertainments barn with undercover dining and BBQ facilities , darts and table tennis. There is also an amenities barn full of games, information, maps and guide books and a washing machine for guest use. We are in a beautiful rural setting but only 10 minutes from the National Routeway N164 that opens up easy access to Brittany's attractions and sights. Accessible from St. Malo and Caen ferries (1h15 and 2h25 respectively) and Dinard and Rennes airports (1h20 and 50 minutes respectively). We are within easy reach of historic towns such as Josselin and Moncontour, Brocéliande the legendary Arthurian forest at Paimpont and beaches are within an hours drive. Ideal location for sightseeing, birdwatching, walking, cycling, or just relaxing.The price is inclusive of bed linen and towels for in gite use (swimming pool towels can be hired). Electric heating. UK and French TV, DVD player, WiFi connection. The gite is self catering. If you're looking for a family friendly restful base at the end of a days sightseeing or activities we could be the place for you.
